Your Friend with Film: The Vibe

Film photography is nostalgic, dreamy, and organic. But it can also feel pretentious, expensive, and unachievable.

My job at Your Friend with Film is to make film photography feel fun, funky, friendly, and accessible. Life is more than just posed special occasions; it is a birthday cake, a plush hotel robe, a dirty martini.

The whimsy, magic, and even the imperfection of 35mm film allows it to reflect our real lives. Distinct from digital photography, the analog nature of film also asks us to be purposeful, to be present, and to intentionally live in the moment for each frame.

Whether it is a chic dinner party, a casual picnic, or an upscale engagement shoot, I’d love to be your friend behind the lens.

Let’s Be Friends

We will set up an intro call or coffee date to discuss your vision. If you have a specific location and/or event in mind, I can’t wait to hear about it! If you don’t have a vision yet, that’s no problem at all. We can either develop one together or just roll with the vibes the day-of.

The Shoot

I can be anything from a wallflower to your art director to your hype woman. Let me know what you need! Due to the peculiarities of shooting on film, I may make some suggestions based on lighting, locale, and posing.

Vibes Delivered

Film developing will take approximately one week, but after that, delivering your images is a top priority. No months-long wait for your gallery. Your film photos will be delivered to you as high-resolution digital scans for download. If you also want to receive your negatives, this can be arranged.
